Sqn Ldr Kenneth Charney, Argentinean pilot of No. 132 Squadron posing in front of his Spitfire Mk XIVe, FF-B ser.no. RN133. The picture was taken in India during 1945.

No. 132 was transferred to India in December 1944. Arriving in Bombay in January, it moved to Ceylon, where it began to prepare for the invasion of Malaya, but the end of the war prevented this occurring.

Charney’s Spitfire is often being depicted in colour profiles, and this photo provides additional detail to other known photographs of RN133: the coloured, probably blue, tip of the spinner and white theatre bands on the wing’s upper and lower surfaces. [Claudio Meunier coll., via Raul Hrubisko]
