The Comox Air Force Museum in Canada is home of the Y2K Spitfire Restoration Project. In 1999, the museum acquired the dissembled Spitfire Mk.IX with serial number TE294. This particular aircraft was built at Castle Bromwich and on completion was delivered to 39MU at RAF Colerne on June 9th, 1945. Fitted with a Rolls Royce Merlin 70 engine, it was intended as a high-altitude fighter but never actually saw wartime service.
This video provides a visual introduction to the restoration project, now in its 7th year.
