An in-flight shot of a No. 414 Squadron RCAF Spitfire FR Mk. XIVe over Hamelin, Germany in April 1945. The serial number on the Spitfire has been removed by the RCAF censor. The aircraft, however, has been identified as RM927.

No. 414 Squadron would scout possible bombing targets over Germany then photograph the damage after the bombing raid. Even though the Squadron was tasked to reconnaissance sorties, the unit shot down 29 enemy aircraft. [Pat Murphy coll.]
