Another pencil drawing by Vladimir Urbanek. This shows a Spitfire Mk. VB, BL973 RS-Y in the hands of Czech pilot F/Lt Stanislav Fejfar, leading his section of No. 313 Squadron.
Fejfar’s combat career started in France. In Britain, he flew with with No. 310 and No. 313 Czechoslovak fighter squadrons . Like many of his peers, Fejfar found his death in aerial combat over France, on 17 April 1942 on a mission between Guines and Audembert. He was probably shot down by the German fighter ace Gruppenkommandeur III./JG 26 Hptm. Josef “Pips” Priller.
Fejfar was credited with at least 6 enemy aircraft destroyed.
Original drawing, format A2 is also available as limited-edition print from the artist’s website at http://www.multiweb.cz/czfighters/
