have recently completed the enclosed 1/48 Spitfire Mk. I models and am in the process of doing some others from the Battle of Britain. I have used the Tamiya kits with home made decals. These turned out to work a lot worse than I’d expected,  but I have since purchased self-adhesive laser-cut letters which will improve things in the future.

All four aircraft represent machines of No 19 Squadron based at Duxford & Fowlmere. The articraft are that of Sqn/Ldr Brian ”Sandy” Lane (QV-K) with it’s famous yellow spinner, Flt/Sgt George ” Grumpy ” Unwin (QV-H), Flt/Lt Frank ” Fanny ” Brinsden (QV-B) and finally, Sgt Bernard ”Jimmy” Jennings (QV-I).

I am starting with a few 54 Squadron machines next and will forward a few more photos when I can get them onto a diorama.

Best wishes to all.
