Here is my recently completed Spitfire Mk. VIII built from the 1/72 Hasegawa kit:
This kit was built using the kit decals, but some detailing work was done to enhance the looks of the model. I added Quickboost exhaust, True Details wheels, some pieces of Eduard photoetch on the gear legs, radiator flaps, and seat belts and seatbelts.
The model is painted with Model Master enamels and weathered with pastels, silver pencil and oils. It represents one of the few Mk. VIII’s to be fitted with both extended wingtips and standard rudder. Most Mk. VIII’s had standard span wings and the broad-chord or “pointy” rudder. This one was flown in Italy in 1944.
