Here is another Spitfire model that I just finished last week. The paint at the photos was probably still not dry!

This is a 1/72 Tamiya Spitfire Mk. Vb kit built to represent a LF Mk. Vb  of the Portuguese Air Force. In 1947, 60 Spitfire Mk Vb’s were purchased from the RAF stock. Most of them were of the LF “clipped wing” model. IN Portuguese service they were given numbers 34-92.

Some of the Spitfires were allocated to the ZE squadron while the rest were given to RL and MR squadrons to get them up to full strength. RL squadron had blue spinners and fuselage bands, ZE squadron had red spinners and fuselage bands, and MR squadron, of which this is one, was based at Ota, Portugal and had yellow spinners and fuselage bands.

Decals for this kit are from Carpena.
