Battle of Britain Beacon – a massive BoB monument is proposed to be erected at the site of RAF Museum London site in Hendon. This video shows the artistic vision plans for the proposed memorial. The provision of suitable funding, and the agreement with interested parties and authorities with whom the Museum is consulting widely, will dictate when the Trustees of the Museum will take the final decision to proceed with construction.

At estimated cost of £80 million, the Beacon would raise 116m over the former airfield surface at Hendon and provide a home for a dedicated Battle of Britain museum.

I can’t make up my mind regarding the looks of the BoB Beacon. The sheer size of it! Great idea, or a monster squashed soda can? Have your say!

70 years on and this country is still obsessed with WW2. And another monument going up in Green Park for Bomber Command as well as this one. It’s ridiculous. It’s time to grow up.
