Greetings to all from Emmental, Switzerland.
Here is a model with I contribute as a homage to the pilots of the Battle of Britain 70 years ago.
This Supermarine Spitfire Mk. II was an aircraft of Wing Comander Douglas Bader, 1940. The kit is Revell-Monogram offering in 1/48 scale. The characteristic letter codes of D-B were his initials and gained him a nickname “Dogsbody”. Bader initiated the tradition of painting individual code letters on Wing Commanders’ aircraft in the RAF.
I also used that same kit and did Bader’s plane.
but , mine did not turn nearly as nice as yours.
i have recently got my hands on the Corgi 1/32nd Bader Spitifire. does anyone have some suggestions as to how to weather a bit of die-cast model ?
i also would like to remove the pilot figure without doing any damage ti the seat or cockpit. if anyone has had any experience with that please advise.
thanks
