Aviation artist and writer Troy White from Uruguay has been a painter since the early 1970’s. The subjects in his paintings of aircraft are inspired by a life-long interest in the history of aviation spawned by his childhood fascination with tales of the feats of WWII fighter pilots.

His latest project, entitled “Sod Off!” is this Battle of Britain scene depicting a battle that occurred on 30 August 1940, featuring Sgt. Ronald F. Hamlyn of No. 610 and Ofw. Karl-Heinz Harbauer of JG 2 battling it out among the contrails.

The painting is the most recent addition to Troy’s innovative “rotational series” – paintings that can be hung from any of the four sides and still be correct.

Oil on canvas, 30″ x 30″. Prints of this painting are offered for sale via Troy’s website at www.starduststudios.com
