I couldn’t resist relaying this wonderful photograph recently found on Flickr. The stylish setting of this Spitfire is Brussels Military Museum.
The Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History, as the institution is officially called, houses a vast display of military history and hardware from all centuries. Aviation fans will particularly enjoy the large Air and Space gallery in the Northern hall. The entry is free and the visitors also get access to the top of the Triumphal Arch for a magnificent view of Brussels.
The depicted Spitfire is suspended from the ceiling in the 1875 Bordiau hall, and is one of the three Spitfires on display in the museum.
