Castle Bromwich Aeroplane Factory. Intermediate Spitfire assembly section at Block “C”. These aircraft were part of a PK312 – PL499 batch ordered in 1944. Out of 800 aircraft, only 571 were eventually built due to the end of hostilities.

I recently flew in a MK 9 Spitfire which was built at the Castle Bromwich factory during 1944 and was curious to see any photographs. No idea the plant was so large. The aircaft I flew in has the following commission number CBAF 10164
