Anatomy of the Spitfire Cockpit
Port side of the cockpit below the entry door, view with pilot seat removed. These two panels were occupied by trim controls and a set of electrical switches and fuse boxes. The large wheel to the right controls the elevator trim. The smaller wheel aft of it sets the rudder trim tab. The two flip switches control the gun camera and heating of the pitot tube. Below the rudder trim wheel there are two additional ones, one for main fuel pump and one main battery switch. The little panel attached to the frame houses the warning lamp for generator failure.
