Anatomy of the Spitfire Cockpit
The most prominent control at the port side of the cockpit is the throttle and propeller control quadrant. The largest lever with the yellow handle is the throttle/mixture control. The lever to the right controls the propeller pitch. Curiously, the little flip switch in front of the throttle lever turns off the warning horn giving an audible signal if a pilot attempted to land without lowering down the undercarriage.
